NEW! DEPARTMENT OF CONTEMPORARY DANCE AT BDC!

Within the framework of expansion and growth of the Barcelona Dance Center, the 2019-2020 academic year we will offer a line of training in contemporary dance, for national and international students who wish to specialize in this aspect of dance.

Barcelona has been a pioneer for years in the dissemination and investigation of contemporary dance, and one of the international cradles of its practice. Therefore, the Barcelona Dance Center will have a set of master teachers and invited guests to develop to the fullest.

The degree in contemporary dance, endorsed by the University Institute of Dance Alicia Alonso through the Barcelona Dance Center, can be combined with practices at the BCN City Ballet, a resident company of the Real Artistic Circle of Barcelona, where choreographies and productions are designed to put them on stage at festivals and events in the city of Barcelona.

Barcelona Dance Center expands the facilities

AUGUST 2019

SALA 1.jpg

For some years, and within the framework of the growth program of our cultural and training divisions, we are pleased to announce that the Barcelona Dance Center expands its facilities, accommodating more international students, who have applied to join the academy . This involves moving the classrooms and training facilities to the old Can Malvehy textile factory of 1826 located in Molins de Rei, within the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, a protected building of the industrial heritage catalog, where we will enjoy more space, more light and more autonomy to ensure the growth of the ballet and the center. Two large sauce of 200m each and a smaller room for methodology and theoretical classes.

Likewise, the incorporation of new cultural divisions to the Barcelona Dance Center, such as the Cuballet program, the X edition of the International Dance Competition Ciutat de Barcelona, and the increasingly consolidated BCN City Ballet, a stable classical youth dance company from Barcelona, they force us to increase the space dedicated to productions and artistic creation.
