THE NUTCRACKER
A few months before Christmas, the Barcelona Dance Center already breathes the illusion of more familiar parties, because they begin the preparations and rehearsals of The Nutcracker, the most important Christmas ballet in history, and one of the most important pieces by Tchaikovsky. For The Nutcracker, the Barcelona Dance Center is full of dancers willing to always prepare the best show for all audiences.
Soloists, dance corps, wonderful characters, and mirlitones among the youngest of the center, all dedicate a lot of effort to prepare the most magical ballet of the year. During these three months, the BDC becomes a space for party and magic, but also a lot of work. Costumes, props and choreography go hand in hand to organize what is one of the most important challenges of any company.

Would you like to be part of an incredible experience like dancing the Txaikovsky Nutcracker? When Christmas arrives, this well-known ballet by the Russian master is one of the most important pieces of the repertoire. It is danced around the world, and there are many companies that take it to the stage, knowing that it is one of the most anticipated moments for the families that go to the ballet.
From the Barcelona Dance Center we invite you to be part of the BCN City Ballet on time. Our company works during the year to spread the dance with very varied programs, but dedicates the last months of the calendar to prepare with care The Nutcracker. The most advantaged students occupy the most important roles and with the most ballet work, but there is also room for girls and boys who want to join the experience of going on stage.
Ballet is a career that not only implies mastery of technique. It also involves facing an audience. That is why we recommend that from early, the future dancers and dancers already have the challenge of going on stage, and defend one of the characters. The teachers, for this occasion, will offer all participating girls a role within this great Nutcracker that we want to be an experience. Artistic, formative, and companionship among the most advantaged and those who are just beginning.
Do you want to be part of the new production of The Nutcracker? Do you only have a couple of days a week to train and dedicate yourself to it? Do you think you're not ready yet? Do not worry. From September to December we will have turned you into an artist ready to go on stage.
